Dear Members of DC Deaf Community.
I would like to introduce myself. Since last February 2019, I have been serving as a At-Large member (for DC Deaf community) on the Metropolitan Police Department Chief of Police Citizens Advisory Council and the meetings are held monthly. I was also invited by Chief of Police Peter Newsham to serve on 2019 Community Policing Working Group.
The inaugural report was issued in 2017. The report developed by this working group will be provided to the Mayor and the Council of the District of Columbia as a part of the biannual update. Your voice and input on how to tailor best practices in community
policing for our city and its local context will be invaluable.
The Community Policing Working Group’s four-month (June-Sept) timeline for holding discussions and preparing its input for the 2019 report. In order to make valuable recommendations, we need to collect input from people who live or work in Washington, DC.
Below, you will find a link to the survey. Please fill out the survey before Friday, 30 August 2019:
If you have any questions or suggestions for me to share at the MPD Chief of Police Citizens Advisory Council monthly meetings, please email me at email@example.com.
